~ School/Social Issues/Materialism/Friends ~

Education ( We see low literacy levels and high drop out rate in our schools. To pray that our schools will be directed by biblical values and high moral standards)

• Teachers and staff (They have a hard and very important job)

To pray that teachers, administrative staff, and students would come to faith in Jesus Christ

Bullying (It takes so many forms and cyber-bullying is becoming such a big problem. Both the bullied children and the bullies need our prayers)

School violence and in particular school shootings

Popularity (School can be a lonely and cruel place if you don’t quite fit in with the other kids at school. May our children find love and acceptance ther are seeking in loving individuals.

• Peer Pressure

• Have and be a special friend (Children need friends. In truth, we all do. Friends pick us up when we fall, and they rejoice when we rise. Good friends play, laugh, cry, and pray together. While the company of friends brightens our lives,"bad company corrupts good character" (1 Cor. 15:33). The character of our friends makes a vital impact on our character. As mothers we may train our children in God's ways, but the friends they choose will deeply affect their long-term commitment to that training. The Bible is packed with examples of good friendships that we can introduce to our children when they are very young and remind them of often as they grow. Our children will be encouraged to see the results of bonding with people of good character as seen in the lives of such biblical characters as David and Jonathan (1 Sam. 18-23; 2 Sam. 1-21); Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego (Dan. 3); Mary and Elizabeth (Luke 1); Jesus, Mary, Martha, and Lazarus (Luke 10:38-42; 16); and the first members of the New Testament church (Acts 1).
